Afflatus Foundation started its journey in 2014. The inspiration and source of strength behind setting up non-profit charitable trust is none other than “Afflatus” itself. The meaning of the word translated as “Inspiration”. “Afflatus” is used for this literal form of inspiration. The initial vision of the Trust was to impart, promote and spread Skill Development Training to people from all segments of the society by providing concessions, scholarships and assistance to children from poor, needy and deserving families. To evolve systems of vocational outreach program in rural and in urban areas where clusters of low income groups exist. Over the years we have focused to create a platform of friendly and responsive community where every result is achieved with their full potential. To facilitate availability and accessibility of services community level involvement is necessary. Afflatus has deep community level connections and access to implement all its programs. We build a powerful coordination mechanism with clear functional responsibilities of various stake holders. There is a brief description of our activities since 2014 to date.

Our programs focus on providing women with the skills, resources, and opportunities they need to become self-reliant and influential leaders.
Our mission, NEHAL, is inspired by the Arabic word "Nehal," which means "Source of Life." NEHAL represents our holistic approach to creating a sustainable and empowered community.
We are committed to preserving nature through extensive plantation programs across Bengal, aiming to restore ecological balance and enhance the natural environment. We focus on educating rural children, providing them with the tools and opportunities needed for their growth and future success.
Health and hygiene are central to our efforts, as we coordinate a variety of medical camps to ensure accessible healthcare services for rural communities. Our menstrual hygiene awareness project, "Ghore Ghore Sanitary Pad," plays a significant role in promoting menstrual health and breaking stigmas.we are engaged in multiple livelihood generation ventures for the women of rural Bengal, enabling them to achieve financial independence and improve their quality of life through skills training and entrepreneurship support.
