Welcome to Afflatus Foundation, where we are dedicated to preserving nature and promoting sustainable practices across West Bengal. Nature is the very umbrella that sustains each and every one of us into a single mechanism, and involves everything right from the tiniest living being to the biggest non-living structure man to exist. Without the sustenance, preservation and protection of this very nature, we shall not be able to survive in the long run as well.
It is as the saying goes, no development can ever exist at the cost of the environment!
Hence it is our very duty to preserve and protect this very nature and environment, and thus, this planet which gives us everything worth sustaining. It is our very duty to make sure that we give back too. We at Afflatus Foundation, try to make sure that we contribute our tiniest bit for the protection and preservation of this very nature.
We carry out awareness programmes in schools, colleges, rural institutions and isolated pockets in both urban and rural areas on plastic recycling, nature preservation, pollution eradication, planting trees, urban forestry and keeping our environment clean. Our plantation programmes work extensively all over Bengal to preserve nature and plant more and more trees and mangroves to save greenery.
Our plantation programme in the Sundarbans in collaboration with TMILL, named “Saving the Mangroves” has carried out mangrove plantation and plastic recycling programmes along with general awareness over extensive areas of Sundarbans. As of today, we have successfully planted 1.50 lakh mangrove saplings along the banks of river Raimangal in the Kumirmari island of Sundarbans.
We also carry out our unique afforestation drive at our educational institution in Mathurapur, Sundarbans. We carry out afforestation based on the idea of nature preservation as a mode of fees of the students instead of money towards the school. If each student can plant and nurture even one sapling in the school premises, it shall not only help grow more trees but equally develop a sense of social responsibility among the students at an early age.
We also carry out extensive plantation as well as plastic recycling programmes across the length and breadth of the state of Bengal in collaboration with V-Guard and other dignified bodies. Our target is to reach a future where the state shall one day be free of pollution and full of greenery.
At Afflatus Foundation, we believe in the power of education and awareness.
